Had prostate cancer treated previously with radiation

Previously had prostate cancer treated with radiation. Unfortunately due to side effects including the development of bladder cancer he had to have his bladder and prostate removed.

A neobladder was not possible due to radiation damage to his urinary sphincter.

The patient chose a pouch. He is very happy apart from the odd urinary infection.

He lives on a farm and felt he wanted the freedom of a pouch even though it was more labor intensive than an ileal conduit.
